Asst. Prof. Dr. Simge Davulcu was born in Cyprus in 1988. She is an Organic Chemist currently working in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Girne American University, where she is lecturing General chemistry, Organic chemistry and Analytical chemistry courses to undergraduate students.She is also the Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences Department. She completed her undergraduate degree “Master of Chemistry with Industrial Training” at the University of Bath, United Kingdom  with a one year placement at GlaxoSmithKline. She obtained her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of Bath working with Prof. Jonathan Williams. Her Ph.D. research investigated novel, atom-efficient catalytic processes developed for the formation of C-N bonds in pharmaceutically important molecules. She then completed her Post-Doctoral studies at the University of Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy in the area of Mechanochemistry for ball-milling method to perform catalytic organic reactions. She is the Co-Chair of International Consortium of Research Staff Assocations (ICORSA) and also the founder of Science for Peace Initiative Cyprus.
